Fitness Leader P.volve Announces Big Expansion in Canada

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–P.volve, the leader in evidence-based functional fitness for women, today announced that it is expanding its presence in Canada, capitalizing on its already strong virtual on-demand membership in the country. P.volve, a women-founded, women-operated, and women-focused company, plans to open more than 100 fitness studios across Canada. His first Canadian fitness studio will open in Victoria, BC this spring, a second franchise has just been awarded to a father-daughter duo in Calgary, Alberta.

P.volve, which allows members to train in the studio, virtually or through a combination of the two, says Canadians contributed significantly to its record July 2021 145% year-over-year growth to June 2022.

“The demand for studio classes by our Canadian members has been overwhelming, and we expect it to continue to increase,” said Julie Cartwright, President of P.volve. “With these new studios, we will be able to better serve our loyal Canadian members.”

Cartwright added, “Most of the more than 100 P.volve studios planned in Canada will be owned by franchisees. Our due diligence process identifies highly motivated people who share our vision, helps them target higher potential markets and provides them with support including access to our established systems, comprehensive training and mentorship by some of the best minds in the company. Our franchise model provides a foundation for an owner to lead and succeed, and we see this as our way forward. »

Today, in a separate announcement, the company confirmed the exact location of its first ever studio in Canada, at 102, 1700 Blanshard Street, Victoria, British Columbia. The franchised studio will be owned and operated by the husband-wife team of Lucille and Tom Cuell of Victoria. “P.volve is the future of fitness – dynamic, demanding yet low impact. We are proud to be on the ground floor of P.volve’s expansion into Canada,” said Lucille Cuell.

P.volve also announced that it has awarded ownership of a studio in Calgary, Alberta to the father-daughter team of Katie and Clint Oakley of Red Deer. The studio will open in the summer of 2023. “I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and we all have our eyes on big opportunities,” said Katie Oakley. “P.volve has changed my life, and I believe it will help Calgarians become the best versions of themselves.”

Women-led, women-focused P.volve, whose name is derived from “personal evolution,” launched an on-demand offering in 2017 and its first studio in 2019 in New York City. Currently, P.volve complements a growing portfolio of on-demand courses with live, in-person classes at company-operated studios in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, all of which are experiencing record growth. Franchise locations in the United States and Canada are expected to open later this year and in 2023.
